Green Cadre is for low-income young adult leaders, 18-24 years old, who will receive leadership and civic engagement training that allows them to become environmental stewards and ambassadors for the clean  and green vision and allied efforts.

The Green Cadre took 50 low-income , workforce investment act- eligible young men and women and create a leadership team whose members individually and collectively advance the clean and green vision, advocate green workforce development, green their jobs and workplaces, and through civic engagement help diverse communities learn about evolving green or green jobs.

Green Cadre members will learn leadership and advocacy, participate in service learning, and gain knowledge about various emerging clean and green jobs and evolving green competencies that now overlay multiple job classifications. They also will develop individual growth plans that focus on continuing education or reattachment to education, and target employability enhancement and ongoing civic engagement.

working with government and municipal organizations, nonprofits, schools, colleges, community-based organizations, and the private sector, the Green Cadre will help to attain outcomes aligned with the clean and green vision.

The Green Cadre service area mirrors the work2future service area which includes the city of San Jose, Campbell, Gilroy, Los Gatos, Morgan Hill, Los Altos, Saratoga, and Monte Sereno.
